Rates of pre-matric scholarship
(Government Order No. BCW 620 BMS 2014, dated 7.1.2015)
Class Boy/Girl Adhoc Grant Total
From 1 to 5 250/- 500/- 750/-
From 6 to 8 400/- 500/- 900/-
From 9 to 10 500/- 500/- 1000/-
Special Note: Students must link their Aadhaar number to their bank account (Compulsorily).
Eligibility :
1. Students belonging to Backward Classes Category I, 2A, 3A and 3B.
2. The annual income of the student's family should be below Rs. 44,500 / -.
3. Students of Backward classes studying in Government / Government recognizedaided/ unaided schools are eligible.
4. Students studying in government / government aided hostels / residential schools are not eligible for scholarships.
5. Only those with more than 75 per cent attendance in the previous class are eligible.
6. Students who have failed in the previous class are not eligible for scholarships.
Mode of Selection :
1. First priority: Granting scholarships to all eligible renewed students.
2. Second priority: Granting scholarships to all students of Backward Classes Category-I
3. Third priority: The remaining amount will be granted to the eligible class-2A, 3A, 3B and other backward classes (only castes listed in the backward category of the central government) as per the following criteria:
1 Category - 2A 61 percent
2 Category - 3A 17 percent
3 Category – 3B 21 percent
4 other Backward Classes 01 percent
  Total 100 percent
Procedure of Selection :
1. Publish notification instructing students to apply through online for pre-matric scholarship.
2. Review the applications submitted by the students through online and confirm the eligible applications.
3. Filling out student information in the department's pre-matric scholarship SSP software.
4. After checking the information filled, declaration from Taluk Backward Classes Welfare Officers
5. Grant scholarships for selected eligible applications as per reservation policy in accordance with respective year's budget and Deposit directly into the student's bank account through Aadhar Bridge Payment System.
