(Budget for FY 2019-20 of Rs. 81048.84 Lakhs)

For backward classes students pursuing courses after matric such as PUC, Degree, Master's Degree, BE, MBBS, Diploma, Vocational etc. 1068 Post –Matric students hostels has been started (507 boys and 629 girls), in this 52373 and 65177 students total 117750 students have been enrolled respectively.
The following facilities are being offered in post-matric Hostel.
1.Food will be given to each student for a period of 10 months at a cost of Rs.1600/- per month.
2.Free accommodation.
3.Contigency expenses for each hostel Rs.1,000/- per month for a period of 10 months will be covered.
4.For cooking vessel maintenance Rs.600/- for thehostel with sanction number 50 and Rs.1000/- for the hostel having more than 50 sanction numbers will be covered per year.
5.Rs. 1250 / - per annum for each student hostels for cleaning the toilets expenses will be covered.
6.Supply of 2 daily newspapers for each hostel at actual cost (One Kannada and one English language newspaper).
7.Payment of rent at the rate approved by the Administrative Department after the rent of the buildings is fixed by the Department of Public Works.
8. a)For library of postgraduate / professional students Rs.1.25 lakhsfor the first time, therafter Rs.30,000/- per annum.
b)For other students hostel Rs.1.00 laksh for the first time, therafter Rs.20,000/- per annuam
9.Sports equipment once a year, per hostel at actual rate.
Standard procedure for admission to Post-Matric hostel
1.Admission to student hostel will be allowed to only those students who are staying 5 KM for away from the college. Local students are eligible for admission.
2.In order get admission to student hostel -Students annual family income limit has been fixed at Rs. 1,00 lakh for Category – 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3Bstudents and Rs. 2,50 lakh for Category-I, SC/ST I students, selection will be made on the basis of eligibility and Income criteria.
3.Students will be selected for admission as per the following reservation ratio.
1 Category - 1 10 percent
2 Category – 2A 35 percent
3 Category – 2B 09 percent
4 Category-3A 09 percent
5 Category-3B 12 percent
6 Scheduled Caste 21 percent
7 Scheduled Tribe 04 percent
  Total 100 percent
4. As pe the Government Circular Number SKAE 53 BMS 2009 dated 26.2.2009 20% of vacant seat available in student hostels are reserved for children of freedom fighters, children of ex-servicemen, children of widows, children of devadasis, disabled children, Orphaned children who have no father and mother, certified child labour, children of homeless, deceased /permanent disabled in atrocityparents children, Children of parents who died / were permanently disabled in the accident, children of tribal (beekeepers and scarce society), nomadic race children, beggar children, safai karmachari children.
Government Order No. SAKAE 221 BMS 2009 to select students for post-matric student Hostel Date: 24.7.2009 the Taluk Level Selection Committee was constituted as follows.
1 Members of the assembly representing the larger part of the taluk Chairman
2 Members of the assembly representing the rest of the taluk Members
3 Members of the respective Legislative council Members
4 Concerned taluk panchayat executive officers Members
5 Branch Educational officers (B.E.O) Members
6 Tahsildars of the respective taluk Members
7 Doctors of the local government hospital in the respective taluk Members
8 The respective Taluk Extension Officers of Backward Classes Welfare Department Member Secretary
